Children's Gardening Program
Friends of Portland Community Gardens co-sponsors the Woodlawn
Children's Gardening Program in collaboration with Portland Parks and
Recreations' Community Gardens office, providing local youth with
hands-on gardening experience through the entirety of our region's
growing season, in the context of a dynamic community garden
classroom.
Summer 2010:
FREE Summer Gardening Classes for Kids, weekly June 22nd-September 2nd at the Woodlawn Children's Community Garden, 7200 NE 11th between Dekum & Lombard.
Tuesdays & Thursdays:
9:00-10:30am ~ Students entering K-3rd grade
11:00am-12:30pm ~ Students entering 4th-8th grade
Contact Children's Gardening Coordinator Mara Reynolds (see below) for
more information, to register a student, or to learn about volunteer
or sponsorship opportunities. Space is limited to 12 students per
session, although drop-ins and field trip visits are welcome.
