Friends of Portland Community Gardens has been serving the Portland gardening community since 1985. We help keep Portland’s 30 Community Gardens vigorous, well managed and productive. FPCG sponsors a children's gardening summer program and advocates for improvements to existing gardens and development of new ones. FPCG holds fundraisers to support Portland community gardens and educates the public about the importance of sustainability, healthy food grown
locally and the immeasurable value of urban gardening.

When you garden, do you put on certain clothes? Grab your favorite gloves? Gather up your tools? Why do you do this? Why not wear a suit or dress? Probably because gardening has a certain ritual to it. When you get ready to garden you’ll probably GET DIRTY.

Whether you are volunteering on a weekend, gardening in your own plot or helping a neighbor with their garden, you will get dirty while getting involved with your neighborhood.
